Engage

The Engage session activates students’ prior knowledge of different Earth features. In this session students use their digital Notebooks to record what they think is an Earth feature and then watch an animated video that gets them thinking further about the topic. Students also participate in a teacher-led discussion about the features of Earth. To complete the session, students collaborate with peers offline and continue to unpack their prior knowledge.

Explore

The Explore session promotes interest in and curiosity about the factors that influence Earth’s features. In this session students play rock, water, wind to determine which influences the other the most. Students also participate in a teacher-led discussion that encourages them to wonder about how wind and water affect rock. To complete the session, students work collaboratively offline and further explore the impact of wind and water on Earth.
