Tornado in a Bottle Experiment

- Clear, water bottle (12oz or larger)
- Water
- Pitcher
- Container or paper towels for spills
Experimental Procedure:
- Fill up the bottle with water.
- Up-cap bottle (if not already uncapped) and hold the palm of your hand to the mouth of the bottle.
- Next, flip the bottle upside down while firmly holding palm to the mouth, so that no water spills out.
- Then swirl the bottle of water around.
- Hold the bottle over the empty pitcher and remove your hand.
- Watch the tornado funnel form as the water drains into the pitcher.
